After graduating I work mostly in restaurants as a cook. In 1972 went to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo. for two years. After that amount of time I realized, this was not my calling, and moved home. In 1977 I joined the US Army, and spent 7 years as an aircraft mechanic stationed in Va, Hawaii, NC, and Germany. After being discharged in 1983, I was only home in Butler for 8 months and moved back to NC near Chapel Hill. I have been here since. In 1989 I continued my education at Durham Tech Community College in Durham, NC. In 1991 I received my AAS in business and continued and in 1992 received my AAS in accounting. After working very hard in mostly restaurant management, in 2004 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I am now medically retired, however, to look at me you would not think there was anything wrong with me.
The Butler High class of '71 was unique. Things have changed since then, we have moved to all parts of this world, but the spirit of BHS class of '71 makes this universe strong.
