Theodore J. (Ted) Cygan, 70, formerly of Lyndora, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. He was a resident of Jefferson Village Boarding Home in Tucson, Ariz.
He was born in Butler, on March 7, 1952, son to the late Michael and Mary (Onufrak) Cygan.
Ted retired from the housekeeping department of Butler Memorial Hospital. He loved to fish and hunt. As his disability made walking more difficult, Ted began carving walking sticks and perfecting the art of smoking meat on the grill.
Ted had a generous heart and would help anybody in need.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Cygan of Sierra Vista, Ariz. He also is survived by his brother, Nick, and sister-in-law, Evie Cygan; niece, Lynn Cygan of Butler; and nieces, Michelle and Mary Cygan of Lyndora.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Cygan; and his niece, Lisa Cygan.
