Terry Hilliard

Terry S. Hilliard, formerly of Butler, died Feb. 7 at the age of 65 in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
He was the son of the late Jay S. Hilliard and his stepmother, Ida Hilliard, of Butler; and his mother, Annabell Gerhert of Lebanon, Pa.
In addition to his mother and stepmother, he is survived by his wife, Kathy; his son, Terry Scott II; his daughter, Kristina (Chris) Harrell; three grandchildren of Ocala, Fla.; his brother, David J Hilliard of Elysburg, Pa.; two stepbrothers and one stepsister, Larry (Roberta) McKivigan of Butler, Jay (Donna) McKivigan of Barton, Ohio, and Mary (Bernie) Klara of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry graduated from Butler High School, spent some time in the U.S. Navy and moved to Florida, where he resided until his death. He retired from Lockheed Martin in Ocala, Fla., in December and was enjoying his retirement.
He was the life of the party and friendly to all. He is sorely missed.

I can’t recall in which grade, or class, I first met Terry. In retrospect, it seems as though I just always knew him.  I didn’t know him well; we were more acquaintances than friends, (didn’t hang out together) but would exchange a few words when we passed in the halls, etc..  He always had a big smile, or sheepish grin, and an amusing quip about something.
